With a ridiculous name like Pouf, you would think that decorating had turned into magic tricks.
While that may be partially true for some, this trend is one that keeps the “fun” in function. Part coffee table, part footstool, part ottoman for extra seating, poufs add a lot of punch to a room.
We used to look at smaller footstools as space fillers and small seating. Now, the Moroccan pouf chair has taken on new meaning with the addition of trims, buttons, outrageous fabrics, and unexpected shapes. Every upholstery company has one, and can barely keep up with the demand. A few of my favorites:

Pouf Chairs by Property
Cute, right? I love the downtown furniture store Property. They always have fun colorful pieces and I am absolutely smitten with these poufs. I just can’t get enough of them. I don’t use a lot of patterns, so when designing with solids I rely on texture to create interest and the rattan side of these ottomans would do the trick for sure.
Let me set one thing straight here. The guys who designed this furniture clearly had no inspiration from any 1980s dot-munching arcade game. Nor does the name “Pouf-Man” have any similarity to the name “Pac-Man”. It’s all on the up-and-up, you see.
