Interior Design Style: Gandia Blasco Rugs

Kaleidoscopes of Pattern: The Caliedo Rug

Interior Design Trends 2009: Outdoor Area Rugs

Resembling a tatted lace pattern or a basket weave design, the Odos design Caliedo is a 7 ½” round hand tufted wool outdoor area rug. Gandia Blasco, renown for exterior furnishings, is taking the world by storm with exquisite rug patterns. The designs are manufactured in India with all natural materials by hand, and assure that no child labor is used.

The Caliedo outdoor area rug features a dramatic swirl of white pattern raised on a brown background. Gandia Blasco is a family business started in 1941 in Valencia as a manufacturer of bedding and blankets. The line of original carpet designs originated in 1990, but has become a force in recent years. The simple, elegant lines are expressive of the design sense valued at Gandia Blasco. The emphasis appears to be more in the simplicity of shape, evoking sensual, undulating lines.
