They say that the things you own can end up owning you, and this also applies in terms of the clutter that can, so quickly, accumulate in our homes.
Of all the rooms in your home which should be clutter-free, it is the bedroom. This is the place where we spend most of our time resting, and it is hard to be rested in a room that is busy and chaotic. Only keep the things in your bedroom that need to be there, or that help create a relaxing, pleasant space you like to be in. Pictures and books that you like are a good idea, but don’t let the room become overcrowded.
Shelves are an obvious way to ensure the walkways in your room are clear; organising your shelves helps you find what you’re looking for as well. Try not to use them as general storage; keep them spacious, and store books, framed pictures, CDs and ornaments in an uncluttered fashion.
If your clothes tend to be scattered on the floor or over bedroom furniture, then it’s time to work out why this is happening. Often it’s as simple as not having enough wardrobe space, which can sap motivation to hang things up or store them properly.
Another way to help this is regularly sorting through your clothing and getting rid of anything that you don’t wear anymore, or doesn’t fit properly. Every season, take out the clothes which you don’t need at the moment and store them out of the bedroom; this helps clear space in your wardrobe for browsing the appropriate items you need.
Divan storage beds are a very convenient and simple way to store away items in your bedroom. Things such as books, CDs, or even clothing can be stored away beneath your bed – space which would normally just accumulate dust. This leaves even more space within your bedroom, helping to create the perfect space for relaxation.
